500 miles away from home

I guess for you young readers, I'am 100% certain that you will have never heard this song your before. The song that I'am going to write about is called "500 Miles away from home". This song was first heard in public in 1961 which if, you like history lesson is during the Vietnam war, right??

From my prespective this song tell about a traveler that is far-far away from home and and the song tells that he is finally coming back and wonders how the people that he loves will react. But if we think more critically, lets consider that 500 miles is not 500 miles, but it describes a very very far away distance, and let also consider Well I didn't have to pack, I had it all right on my back which means that this guy is carrying a back back and that this song was created during the vietnamese war..

So, this song is basicly an indirect protest made by the song writer on the U.S goverment decision to attack Vietnam, which they unfortunatly lost a lot of Good men. During this time periode, lots of folks song with 'coming home themes" apeared, such as Take Me home Country Roads, Green-green Grass of Home, Dear John and lots more. Song that have a sad theme to its lyrics.

I quite like this song (because I am old and have back pains) so i hope you will enjoy it too.

Resensi Film Band of Brothers (buat di majalah warta himahi)

Film seri Band of brothers produksi channel HBO yang disutradarai oleh steven Spielberg dan Tom Hanks merupakan sebuah film mini seri yang bercerita tentang sepak terjang "Easy company" 506th regiment, 101st Airborne. Easy company merupakan kompi militer tentara Amerika Serikat pada masa perang dunia kedua. Film seri band of brothers bercerita tentang perjuangan pasukan ini dari masa awal pelatihan di kamp Taccoa hingga mereka berhasil menaklukan singgah sana Hitler "the eagles nest" di Berchtesgaden di daerah Bavaria, Jerman.

Film ini fokus pada tokoh Captain Richard WInters dari masa awal pelatihan easy company hingga akhir penyeranganmereka di Bavaria. Richard winters merupakan seorang captain yang bijaksana serta disegani oleh anak buahnya karena ketangguhanya dalam memimpin pasukan easy companya dari awal hingga akhir perang .

Dalam film seri BOB kita dapat melihat reka ulang dari beberapa pertempuran terkenal yang merupakan titik balik pada perang dunia kedua. Contohnya adalah "Operation Overlord" dengan peristiwa D-day pada tanggal 6 juni 1944. Pasuka easy companya merupakan pasukan "airborne" yang berarti pasukan tempur yang dikirim ke daerah konflik dari pesawat. Selain reka ulang pertempuran D-day, terdapat juga "operation Market Garden" yaitu sebuah operasi militer sekutu yang bertujuan untuk merebut Kota Arhem dan Eindhoven dari pihak Jerman. Ada pula pertempuran gerilya para pasukan sekutu di hutan-hutan Bastgone.

Film seri Band of Brothers diangkat dari Novel sejarah karangan Stephen E. Ambrose. Beliau adalah seorang sejarawan terkemukan yabng telah menciptakan beberapa buku bertema Perang Dunia 2 seperti Buku : Citizern Soldoer. D-day, Band of Brother, Wild Blue dan lain-lain.

Film Band of brother menggunakan efek-efek Hollywood yang mutakhir sehingga suasana peperangan dapat terasa oleh penonton. Film ini juga merupakan film seri termahal setelah film seri baru berjudul "Pasific" yang juga di produksi oleh HBO. Detail seragam, pesawat serta kendaraan Perang Dunia kedua sangat akurat. Di dalam film ini anda dapat melihat kendaran perang seperti Tank Sherman buatan AS, Tank Tiger, Lusinan Jeep dan Kubelwagen, pesawat C-47 Sky train serta banyak lagi.

Film Band of Brother merupakan film wajib nonton bagi para penggemar perang (war buff) karena film ini secara tidak langsung membawa anda langsung kepada ketegangan perang yang dialami oleh easy companya..
